I travel a lot and this yoga mat fits perfectly in the "expandable" part of my carry-on case and doesn't add much weight; it's still easy to toss my carry-on case in the overhead bin of the airplane.
It's an excellent, high-quality yoga mat and it's SO COOL how it folds up and fits in that gauzy bag! The only thing is that because it's a good mat it does not fold up very thin, so you do need to make room for it in your suitcase. Just bring less clothes! You won't wear them anyway!
It is much easier to travel around with than the normal roll-up style; I don't have a huge tree stump hanging out of my bag on public transit! I've had no issues with a distasteful smell, and traction is fine. It's very easy to clean, very compact, and overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase! Now if only it could teach me how to do Yoga, that would be great.

I have got this mat as an alternative to the standard rolling mats. I took this mat to Italy. It fit well in my suitcase. I love how it folds up so the bottom is out. I felt quite comfortable using it on a hotel floor because of that. It is as thick as my regular and has great traction. I had no problem with odor. I just wiped it and air dried it when it arrived.
